The Concept

The Synopsis
Farah is a gifted with the voice of an angel and a soft, gentle look about her. Her eyes are deep and sincere. Her smile can warm the heart of any man. This is what her longtime lover, Iqbal, believes. But Farah can never see those things in herself, nor can all the record producers and TV talent show auditioners who all say she is not “star material” or conventionally beautiful. The sad truth is that Farah believes them more than she believes Iqbal, and this is what will bring her to her eventual downfall. Her obsession eventually leads her to the ancient practice of susuk, the magical insertion of an object (often gold, gems) in parts of the face in order to increase attractiveness and popularity. Farah’s career takes off, she quickly becomes adored by thousands, and soon, millions, but this fame comes at a price. A creature is roaming the city ripping off the faces of innocent women. The brighter her star shines, the more her soul fades. Iqbal slowly discovers, with the aid of a witchdoctor that can “see” the objected in Farah, that the woman he loves is in fact the beast committing these atrocious killings.
